I was perusing profootballtalk.com today when I came across and blurb pointing out that Tim Tebow’s pastor claims that the Broncos are winning because God wants them to.

My first reaction is:  who the hell cares what Tim Tebow’s pastor thinks and why on Earth did they ask him anyway?

My second reaction is:  With all the evil in the world today, does this traif truly believe that God is fixing football games instead of battling Satan?  If so, he needs to find a new profession because he sucks at the current one.

My third reaction is:  Since when does God have favorites?  If, as this cockpouch says, God is fixing the Broncos games so that Tebow can win, then he’s purposefully making the other guys lose.  There are plenty of believers in the NFL, though not as vocal about it as Tebow, but would God choose Tebow over them?  Methinks not.

The Broncos are winning games because their defense is playing lights out and the offense, led by Tebow, is making plays when they need to.  I’m sure the Broncos play has been inspired by Tebow’s God-given leadership ability, but in no way is God interfering with NFL games.  That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

The stupidity that religion inspires amazes me sometimes.

Updated Thoughts: So now that the Broncos have been eliminated from the playoffs, does this mean that God wanted them to lose?  Or did the Patriots pray harder?  Or did God just watch the game like the rest of us wondering who would win?  I take option three.  And I’ll bet God had some wings and beer while watching.
