I know, I know.  I’ve neglected the blog for a few days.  In my defense I was home all day Thursday with Baby A who was diagnosed with strep throat, so that was fun.  Friday was a really shitty day at work and by the time I was home I just didn’t feel like writing anything.  Yesterday, well yesterday I just slacked off.

Anyhow, as you may or may not know, yesterday was St. Patrick’s day.  So we took Baby C to my mom’s house so she could watch him (the twins were with their mom) and went to an Irish pub for a few hours.

Unfortunately, this establishment also considers itself a sports bar in addition to an Irish pub.  So naturally they showed the University of Kentucky game last night being that we are in the midst of March Madness and all.

For most of the game this did not bother me.  Towards the end of the game however, when the Cats were up by almost 20 points, the drunken idiots decided to start chanting.  It’s a very unoriginal and complex chant.  See if you can follow:

C A T S Cats! Cats! Cats!

Does that sound familiar?  It should to any sports fan.  It’s a direct ripoff of the famous New York Jets chant lead by the infamous Fireman Ed at all of the Jets home games.

J E T S Jets! Jets! Jets!

That’s the one.

So not only did these clowns wait until the game was well in hand before they began their idiotic and pilfered chant, they were screaming it inside a small pub that is probably only twice the size of my living room.  Oh, how my head throbbed.

Thoroughly annoyed by the drunken stupidity around me, I started my own chant.

S T F U Shut the fuck up!

Needless to say, it didn’t catch on.  Quite frankly, I think I’m the only one that heard me chanting.

Oh, well.  I tried.  And learned a valuable lesson.  Steer clear of public places when UK is on in Kentucky.  It turns otherwise normal looking people into pathetic mockeries of themselves who exist solely to annoy you with their juvenile antics.

Another lesson learned the hard way…
