Tell us about a guilty pleasure that you hate to love.
Blogging. Blogging is a simple pleasure I hate to love. I know, I know. It sounds horrible, but it’s true.
Ever since I started blogging again I look at everything (and I mean everything) as fodder for my blog. I’m always checking my stats. I’m always checking my reader to see if anyone posted any new blogs. I’m always trying to think of some new topic to write about. I’m always trying to think of new things to do with my page to help generate more hits.
During my three-month hiatus, blogging never came up on my radar. I never thought about it. I didn’t care about it. And I guess I was somewhat ashamed to admit what was going on in my life. When I finally gathered up the courage to write about my troubles and hit publish, all of the encouragement and well-wishes nabbed me, hook, line, and sinker.
Being part of the blogging community is a wonderful experience. You get to meet new and wonderful people. Funny people. Sincere people. People who have experienced the same things that you have and can relate to what’s going on in your life. I’ve become immersed in the blogosphere. I’ve become one with it. I feel the force.
If blogging is so flipping fantabulous then why do you hate to love it, Twindaddy?
I’m glad you asked, gentle reader, I’m glad you asked.
The answer, to be perfectly blunt, is because I spend all of my frickin’ free time blogging or reading blogs! In addition to some of my unfree time. It’s an obsession, and not by Calvin Klein.
I just said not THAT obsession.
I need to find some balance with this somehow. Luckily, most of my time spent on WordPress is at work, where I don’t have a whole lot of things to do right now anyhow. But I need to slowly ween myself off of it and get my usage down to an acceptable level. Too much of anything is a bad thing. I don’t know what overexposure to blogging would do to a person, but scientists are frantically researching this very pandemic currently and will have test results in a matter of months. Early indications are not pretty.
As you can see, too much blogging turned this cat comatose. Several attempts to revive him have been unsuccessful. This was taken prior to the paddles being used. That cat is no longer comatose, but now looks like Mr. Bigglesworth. Lawsuits are pending.
So there you have it. Blogging is the bane of my existence right now. Other things I also hate to heart are:
These are so devilishly yummy.
Mmmmm….heavenly goodness.
I’ve kicked my coffee habit again, because evidently my body can’t handle caffeine any longer. But damn, this shit is good.
You can’t just have one…bag.
Much like the Ninja Turtles, I just can’t get enough pizza. Cowabunga, bitches!
Another fatal addiction. I heart buffalo chicken, but it doesn’t heart my heart.
How about you, gentle reader, what things do you hate to heart?

Personally, I hate that I love to laugh at other people. Whether their misfortune, or unfortunate circumstance. I guess it is just a way that I deal with the shitty things that happen in the world. Don’t get me wrong, I do sympathize with the people that I laugh at, but I do not like the fact that I do most of the time.
I do that, too. But it’s either laugh or cry. I’d rather laugh.
I know what you mean about too much blogging. It’s bad, real bad.
And doritos. I cannot have any because, like you said, you can’t just have one WHY are they so good?!
MFE, you are truly a kindred spirit. You understand me.
I’ve been wondering about that myself lately. I’ve become addicted to blogging. Oh well, there’s worse things.
True, I could be addicted to meth.

Didn’t work out so well for poor Artoo…
Ha ha! Thanks! I’m sending that to my son. He’ll love it!
Woohoo!
Pizza…morning, noon or night. Reeses anything. Texting is my guilty pleasure. 15 months ago, I didn’t even have a smart phone. Now I have over 40,000 texts. Great post as always.
Holy crap!!! 40,000? I don’t think I’ve done that much in my life!

I agree with everything you just said! I was gone over the weekend and came back to over 100 blogs in my inbox to read! And I want to read them all! So I’ve been catching up for two days! I finally had to make myself stop and write (since I wanted to write something) before I went back to it!
And reeses: SOOOOO gooooooooood!
Sometimes it’s a lot of work to goof off.
Totally get you here. I’m supposed to be on a blogging break. TECHNICALLY I am, as I did not publish anything today.
I think I have a problem. We should have an AA for blogs. I know! We could host it on our blogs! Wait.
This is a GREAT idea!
Great. Now I’m hungry for pizza and wings.
I quenched that craving yesterday. Snap! Snap. Snappy Tomatoes Pizza mmmmm.
