I have decided to partake in Edward Hotspur‘s weekly Romantic Monday feature. In essence, you write a romantic poem every Monday and share it on his page so that other participants can read your work in addition to sharing their own. If you fancy yourself a poet, as I occasionally do, please join me in participating in this Unshitty™ adventure.

Adrift, lost
Before our paths crossed
Ignorant, unaware
An unanswered prayer
I cried, I screamed
Fate intervened
A light, a beacon
My will to weaken
Found, discovered
Each other we uncovered
In love, smitten
As if in the stars it were written
Suffering, hardship
Losing my grip
Understanding, realization
Emotional constipation
Change, transformation
A search for salvation
I pledged, I swore
I will love you forevermore

That’s a gorgeous poem. Is it OK to submit older work to the Romantic Monday page?
Absolutely, sir – because it’s new to us. It’s not that formal. It’s so informal that it’s wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
I’ll be happy when it gets to boxers and a wifebeater.
I guess so. That’s up to Senior Hotspur…
Good poem, dude! You give Revis a run for his money.
Thanks.

That was beautiful.
Thank you, dearest Susan.
Beautiful. Talent runs in your family.
That’s why it’s so hard to catch…
Ha! The contradiction between the beautiful words and the picture above with the middle fingers extended shows also the range you have. Oh, and you are welcome….it is a beautiful poem.
Thank you. Thank you so much. Really.
Oh, and thank you.
Nice one sir!
Thank you kindly.
LOVE…this completely!
Thanks, Hasty! That means a lot coming from you.
It is true…I felt it and it felt nice! Glad you have someone that makes you feel complete!
She certainly does.
I love how you still manage to allude to poop in the midst of romance.
Well, I really was emotionally constipated for a while. I shut her out and wasn’t sharing my feeling with, well, anyone. I’m doing my best not to be that way anymore. We talk more now than we ever have about…whatever. It’s nice. And completely different than I’m used to.
I figured. I went back through many of your confessional posts. It’s quite inspiring how dedicated you are to improving yourself and your marriage. It takes some big kahunas to work that hard on yourself.
Yeah, it’s definitely different than I’ve ever been.
I hope it works out for both of you, truly. Forever and ever.
Thank you, me too.
Oh Twindaddy, it’s beautiful
Thank you, NBG. As always, your kind words flatter me.
Oh no…you are showing that besides when you speak of your children, you have a really soft romantic side in that huge armor that you wear…nice job
Yeah, yeah. I’m really a softie. Shhhh. Don’t tell anyone.
My lips are sealed
Good. I’d hate to have to leave a garrison here.
I love it!!!! And of course you’d throw in “constipation”.
You got a soft side…and I like it!
Shhhhh!
Totally telling everyone!!!!
Damn you!
She wasn’t lying…it’s on Twitter….embrace your softiness….you can still hide in the armor, but only for a while……
Wait, what? What’s on Twitter. You fuckers better not be selling me out!!
It’s out, Daddy…..the Twitter world has been informed of your softiness….I want to TM that word!!
Alt code 0153. And no. I want retractions…NOW!
You’ll have to talk to Nicole Marie…she spilled the beans…..under that armor….complete softie!! I knew it.
Oh. It’s on!
Oh crap….we never had this conversation!!
And it looks like Twitter is down so I can’t even defend my good name!
Mine has been all over the map tonight….it will give you time for a brilliant rebuttal!!
I don’t even know what I’m rebutting yet!
You’ll find it….softie!!
Ugh….
