Normality is subjective. Almost everybody considers the things they like and do to be normal. And anyone who likes or does something else is different. Most of us tolerate these differences with grace and understanding. Others of us, not so much. I know that not every person is the same, so the term normal really shouldn’t apply to people. After all, I’m unique. Just like everyone else.
Wait! Daily Prompt! Come back! I wasn’t neglecting you I just had other things to write! Geez, you’re a sensitive little topic, aren’t you? Well, I’ll do this prompt whether or not you’re here with me or not. So there!
Um, wait. If DP is gone who’s going to prompt me? This sucks. Um….I guess I can prompt myself. Here goes..
There has been some unrest in the Facebook kingdom of late, and rightfully so. It seems that Facebook selectively enforces their hate speech guidelines. While ads supporting breast cancer are denied because they show a breast, images of a woman with tape over her mouth that say “don’t tap it and wrap it, tape her and rape her” are allowed to stay as they fall under the category of “poor taste” or “crude attempts at humor.”

Over the past week a movement has started to boycott Facebook and/or companies that advertise on Facebook. People have left Facebook. Companies have pulled their ads. Then Facebook responded, albeit noncommittally.
Many of my fellow bloggers are contemplating leaving Facebook and some of them actually did. I considered it momentarily, but when I realized I’d have no way to keep tabs on the twins’ Facebook activity I decided not to. Of course, it then occurred to me to deactivate their accounts as well, but I’m not sure they’d understand, though I suppose they need to learn to make a stand at some point. I’m not sure I’m ready to explain to them what rape is. I won’t be able to answer the inevitable question of “Why?”. I have no idea why someone would rape another person and I have even further trouble understanding why someone would find it funny. Continue reading

So, anyhow, I feel compelled to do today’s prompt despite your asshole-iness. That’s a word, right? Right. Prompt me!!
When you started your blog, did you set any goals? Have you achieved them? Have they changed at all?
Well, well. The Daily Prompt has actually given me a prompt I’m excited about. Admittedly, I’ve saved all the emails from recent DP posts in a folder on the off-chance that maybe one day they’ll inspire me, but this one is probably my favorite prompt ever.
By now I’m sure your curiosity is piqued and you’re slowing leaning in towards your screen in excruciating anticipation. You can’t wait to find out what I’m so excited about. Well, I’ll tell you. After I relieve myself, because this is so cool that I have to pee.

Anyhow, DP is questioning the purpose of our blogging habits today. Always with the hard-hitting questions, DP is. It’s like we’re locked in one of those rooms with DP and there’s a mirror on the wall that you know is really not a mirror and that there are people on the other side watching. Listening. Judging. The bastards. Who are they to judge me?
Another day, another Daily Prompt. Evidently it’s National Poetry Writing Month, which is almost over. Is there a national month for everything now? I mean, seriously, why can’t April just be, you know, April? Ah, whatever.

Today the Daily Prompt probes deep within the recesses of my person to unearth some obscure information about my Unshitty™ self for Maphia™ consumption. Seriously, what would you guys know about me if not for these prompts? Not much, I’d wager.
