Hi readers!  A storm named Nemo has ravaged our Northeast friends and pretty much stopped their lives.  I hope my friends and family are safe, I hope you and yours are too…I do need to ask…why are they now giving a name to every act of God or nature?  Did a cosmic veejay get pissed and threaten us with eternal doom because we weren’t naming all children that popped outta her womb?   Educate me please.

Winter’s wonder graces all
Every time the snow does fall
Mother nature leaves her lair
Ejaculates snow everywhere

Crystalline white flakes fall gracefully like a feather
A lovely ivory blanket a result of this weather
Tree branches are snowy and covered with ice
Everywhere you look is frosty and nice

Through gloomy clouds sunlight does escape
Illuminating the alabaster landscape
The fresh-fallen snow sparkles and shines
While trees cast shadows in straight obsidian lines

This beautiful picture will not last
It will get played in and be a thing of the past
The children will play with delight
And have a huge snowball fight!

The temperature here in the Cincinnati metro area this month has averaged in the mid-40′s.  For like three days last week it was really cold and we got about a half an inch of snow.  Then it went back to the 40′s and even lower 50′s.

This morning I drove through thunderstorms on my way to work.  There was thunder and lightning amid the torrential down-pour.  A tornado even touched down in Louisville this morning.

So what gives?  Where’s winter?  Where’s the snow?  Where’s the cold weather?  This warm winter better not be followed by an extremely hot summer or I’ll be pissed.

If you are anywhere on the eastern side of the US then you experienced some sort of winter storm today.  This morning on my way to work the roads were a disaster.  They were completely covered, so naturally everyone is driving very slow.

All is going will until I get to the 275 interchange.  This ramp goes up a hill.  I’m barely onto the ramp before the guy in the lane next to me comes halfway into my lane because the guy in front of him couldn’t make it up the hill and is blocking half the exit.  I was able to get a glimpse of the car blocking the road and it was a Mustang.  A freakin Mustang.  Why on Earth are you driving a Mustang (or any other rear-wheel drive vehicle) in a winter storm?  What moron does this?  Well, that guy.  And he ruined not only my morning, but the morning of everyone behind me.  Jackwagon.

So while I’m ranting about idiots driving in snow…why is it that people with 4-wheel drive think that they can just fly down the road when it’s covered with snow?  Sure, the 4-wheel drive gets you going and gives you somewhat better control than a 2-wheel drive, but guess what?  It doesn’t help you stop the damn vehicle.  Quit driving like a lunatics!

Stupid people piss me off.

EDIT:  And another thing…it really pisses me off when I see a snow plow driving down a snow covered road or highway and the truck is neither plowing nor salting.  I understand that snow plowing is a business, but couldn’t you at least put the plow down while you’re driving to wherever you’re going to plow?  Are you so inhumane that you’ll only help people out unless you’re getting paid $350 an hour (yes, it can cost that much to plow snow, I’ve seen invoices) to do it?  Greedy bastards.
